Mitchelville Place is a 5 acre estate located on the historic site of Mitchellville the first Freedmen's Town, overseen originally by general Ormsby Mitchell. The home on the property is a reproduction of General Mitchell’s house that he occupied in Beaufort, South Carolina. Today, our home welcomes you and yours to enjoy our home's charm for stays, plays, and special days!
THE PROPERTY
Mitchelville Place is Hilton Head Island's newest rental property. The house is designed with large families in mind. We are also available to host special events and weddings with on-site lodging for up to 20 guests.
The property is designed end-to-end to provide an ideal space for special get-togethers. The Main House features an open floor plan, chef's kitchen, and a full wrap-around porch. The adjacent Workshop sits 100 feet from the main house. The Workshop features extra guest housing; in addition to a large, modern event space complete with full bar and lounge. Directly behind both buildings sits our Waterfront Pavilion, which sits on our property's private Ibis Pond. The Pavilion also offers pristine views of Hilton Head's Port Royal Sound.
OUR ROOMS
The Main House's second floor features two spacious bedrooms, each with its own full bath. Oversized windows allow for plentiful natural light. The original wood floors and wood accents compliment the modern and plush furnishings.
The Main House's third floor features two extra loft bedrooms with a shared full bath.
The neighboring Workshop and Guest House features flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 10 additional guests.
